R.A.W. UNITED POWERLIFTING

My 12 year old daughter, Sam Shores has been competing on the West Shore Junior Senior High School R.A.W. Powerlifting Team since July 2007.

On March 30, 2008 she competed in the 100% Raw High School Nationals. The competitors were absolutely phenomenal! They ranged in age from 10 years old, all the way up to 74 years old! Watching these incredible athletes is truly a privilege! There were many state and national records to be made that weekend!

There were many national and state records broken in the competition. These are results of the competition.

Sam Shores broke 3 World Records at the meet. She broke her own World Records that she had set in December 2007 at the 100% Raw United Federation World Championships. In squats (as pictured) she broke the World Record of 145 lbs in her weight class. In the push pull, deadlift she broke the World Record of 200 lbs in her weight class. And she broke her own total combined lift totals in squats, deadlift and bench press of 400 lbs! Congrulations go out to Sam and all the other powerful lifters in R.A.W.

The credit must go to her coach (pictured) Spero Tshontikidis. Spero trains lifters of all ages and has been competing himself for years. He is the Coach for the West Shore Junior Senior High School Powerlifting team. Spero is truly one of the most dedicated coaches I have ever met. He is enthusiastic, hard working and he is a merit to the sport.
